Testimonials

“I LOVE the accessibility and connectivity that we have. It helps to keep communication open and allows for problem-solving. It becomes a team approach versus a lecture. We can evaluate what is working and what doesn’t work and fix it instead of being given a one size fits all format. I love being able to meet outside and add in the physical element of walking. I feel like I’m multitasking and accomplishing something. I also LOVE being able to pick your brain and dig down into the “meat and potatoes” of the issue. There is also another layer of accountability by meeting up to walk or run or do whatever. It’s easy to drive to an office and say yeah I’ve been walking but I’m not losing weight where if you are out walking and you are winded at 50yds it is apparent that you were not holding up your end of the deal. I could so go on and on! I am loving this!”

“I plan to work with Dr. Blackwell moving forward as I trust him, and this relationship works well for me. I saw Dr. Blackwell on Linked-In for Sovereign Health, so we started a conversation.  It first started with the SARS CoV-2 antibody test that he can order and followed up quickly with methods to maintain great cardiovascular health through diet and exercise. My total and LDL cholesterol levels were elevated, more than in the past for me.  For most of my life, I would commonly have approximately two meals a day that involved eating meat of some kind. Dr. Blackwell met with me and emphasized the seriousness of fixing this situation for a sake of my family and myself.  He discussed new methods of treating this aggressively, without compromising cardiovascular health. He went a step further and asked if he could share my results and his thoughts with my wife.  I agreed.  This was a great step that helped me since my wife was invested in an eating change that we could do together; even though she is already in great health.  My family was very supportive where they enjoyed many of the foods that we ate.”

Patient 2 (after 4 weeks) LDL reduction from 204 to 133 Weight loss 21 pounds
“I absolutely loved the idea of being able to meet you the first time outdoors and walk and chat. I feel like that is a wonderful approach and encourages the active lifestyle you are trying to promote and allows people the opportunity to see that meeting up with  people (friends and family) can be done in a different setting which does not include food but rather nature and activity. So yes! Keep this up! I really think label reading resonated with me-avoiding the 3 S’s but just how important it is and why it is necessary to avoid certain ingredients. I think the grocery store trip would be a great idea (one I still need to take you up on) I appreciate your passion and desire to check in and share details of your own success-including what’s for dinner at your house. It gives me different ideas and let’s me know you are just as invested in the process as you expect me to be.  I feel like I am not perfect-although I really want to be, but I realize it is a work in progress and I am learning to appreciate a new way of eating and feeling better about myself. I think including the patients support person in the process early on is also critically important to success (which you did).”
Patient 3 (after 4 weeks)Weight loss 15 pounds - LDL reduction pending
“The science behind the changes. The specific approach to diet. The recipes that helped get us started. The continual food suggestions that help us shop etc… The conversation about practical ideas. Simple things like staying away from the three S oils. In the future I would have a prepared list of helpful things to pick up and where you can find them. This might seem a little goofy but pronunciation of certain things like quinoa and Chia seeds. It can be embarrassing to ask and get goofy looks from the store staff. I think the walking appointment is much more beneficial than a clinical setting. Especially on someone’s “home turf”.”
